Bernard Poggetti

Founder

Bernie Poggetti was one of the founders of Capitol Electric and was a respected business leader whose life reflected a deep commitment to hard work, family, and community. Born in San Francisco in 1950, he was raised with strong values that would guide him throughout his life and career. He attended Sts. Peter and Paul School, graduated from St. Francis High School, and later earned his MBA from the University of San Francisco. Bernie went on to become a proud partner in Capitol Electric, helping build the company alongside his close friend Ron Burgess and his brother John Poggetti through years of steady leadership and craftsmanship. He was known for his strong work ethic and took great pride in creating something lasting through his trade.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bernie valued time spent with family above all else. He enjoyed working on projects in his garage, golfing, and helping his children with their homes and improvements. He had a gift for bringing people together, often hosting gatherings where he shared stories and created lasting memories. Bernie especially cherished quiet moments, from morning coffee with his wife to relaxing evenings watching golf or the news. He was also a devoted grandfather who rarely missed an opportunity to support his grandchildren’s activities.

Bernie passed away March 9th, 2026 and will forever be remembered fondly by all those he worked with at Capitol Electric.
